The CIBC Dividend Visa Platinum Credit Card is Great – Here’s Why – You get 4% cash back on all your spending at gas stations and Tim Hortons, that’s what the brochure/booklet says. To this day, yes, I have received my 4% cash back when I swiped the card at Tim’s and gas stations. So that’s cool, isn’t it.

But wait, here’s the best part CIBC Dividend Visa Cardyou end up getting 1% cash back for using your card elsewhere, like at the grocery store, shopping, etc.

A few more things to note: Every December, you get your money back as a credit on your December statement. And yes, I got it this month. So it works!!

Isn’t it really cool that you end up getting money back in the month of Christmas and New Years just there to reduce your expenses of paying that extra money for your credit card bills.

Oh yes, before I forget to mention, for car renters like me, you get extended vehicle protection insurance included, saving you a lot of money when you rent a car. Insurance prices are crazy in Canada, aren’t they? Either way, there’s no limit on the cash back you earn, so it’s also nice to have a feature.

The downside I find to this card is that you have a $99 annual fee, so you might want to do the math before applying for one for yourself. However, the first year is free, with no annual fee to try the card.
