I just received a notification from Meridian Credit Union, they are informing their members that starting September 1st, certain changes will be occurring regarding the features and fees of their personal account offerings:
Here is the highlight of the changes:
Starting with their Pay as you Go accounts, from September 1, 2021:
- A minimum deposit of $2,000 is required to keep trading free
- Transactions cost $1 each if minimum balance is not met
- 4 free withdrawals at Interac ATMs (not part of the Exchange Network) will now be discontinued
- 4 free Interac e-Transfers per month will now be added (with discount at the end of the month)
- Interac e-Transfers now cost $1.50 each, up from $1.25 each
With their unlimited checking account (young adult account from 18 to 29 years old), as of September 1, 2019:
- No minimum balance required like before
- 4 free withdrawals at Interac ATMs (not part of the Exchange Network) will now be discontinued
- 4 free Interac e-Transfers per month will now be added (with discount at the end of the month)
- Interac e-Transfers now cost $1.50 each, up from $1.25 each
